Special Education Itinerant Services (SEIS) (3-5 Years)
VCLC provides preschool students classified as preschool students with disabilities with special instruction provided by a certified special education teacher (SEIT) in community settings with their peers or at home.
- SEITs regularly consult with the preschool teacher as well as the parents to discuss interventions to include the preschool student with disabilities in the inclusive setting.
- SEITs work with each child on IEP goals within the classroom, community or home setting
The primary goal of SEIT is to provide the necessary special education supports to help the child benefit from participation in a community early childhood program. As with all therapies, the goal of the SEIT is to teach the child to function within the educational setting independently without SEIT support.
