Evaluation Center

Our Evaluation Center provides multi-disciplinary evaluations for Early Intervention (EI), Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE), and Committee on Special Education (CSE).

VCLC provides multi-disciplinary evaluations (including bilingual evaluations) for young children birth to 8 years old who have suspected disabilities and/or are at risk for developmental delays to determine if the child qualifies for services. There is no out-of-pocket cost for the evaluations. If parents feel their child needs an evaluation, they must contact their local Department of Health (EI) for children under the age of 3 and their school district for children from 3-8 years old.

Types of services, frequency, duration, location, and provider are determined by the municipality for EI and the school district for CPSE and CSE. Families have no out-of-pocket expenses but are responsible for fees/costs associated with child care. All teachers and therapists are licensed and/or certified according to NYSDOH and NYSED regulations.
