Variety Child Learning Center (VCLC) a nonprofit program providing specialized education, early intervention, and support services for young children (ages birth to eight) with diverse learning needs is currently accepting applications for a School Psychologist, bilingual in Spanish/English on a fee for service basis for Preschoolers (3-5 yrs old) navigating the Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE) process.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience:
• NYS Certification/Licensure in School Psychology
• NYS Bilingual Extension in Spanish.
• Experience conducting CPSE bilingual psychological evaluations for a culturally diverse early
childhood population (ages 3–5).
• Experience assessing children presenting with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and complex
developmental disabilities.
• Proficient on preschool assessment tools necessary for evaluations.

Responsibilities:
• Administer comprehensive psychological evaluations to children aged 3-5 years old in diverse settings
such as childcare, preschool, and homes.
• Conduct comprehensive Social Histories.
• Conduct evaluation observations in the child’s natural or current daily setting.
• Coordinate scheduling, administration, and submission of results/reports with the CPSE Evaluation
Coordinator.
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary CPSE evaluation teams (including speech, occupational,
and physical therapists).
• Enter data into IEP direct: including goals, outcome summaries and results.
• Organize and manage time to meet evaluation deadlines.
• Maintain a flexible, receptive attitude toward supervisory direction and feedback.

Work Environment: This position involves regular presence throughout the school environment, including classrooms, therapy rooms,
administrative offices, common areas, playgrounds, and other activity spaces. The psychologist frequently moves between settings to
support instructional programs and staff and engage with families and service providers.

Physical Demands: The psychologist must be able to stand, walk, sit, bend, climb stairs, and navigate both indoor and outdoor
environments as part of daily operations . Occasional physical assistance of students may be required in emergency or safety-related
situations. The psychologist must be able to lift, support, or assist a preschool-aged child (up to approximately 35 pounds) and, when
necessary, a school-age child (up to approximately 50 pounds), consistent with program needs and safety protocols.
